Day 33 Mexican Hill Ranch to Shepherd

Enjoyable 61 mile ride with 1,750 feet of climbing.  As we move into east Texas we started to see more pine forests and lakes.  We stayed at an eccentric place called Shepherd's Sanctuary, which is hard to explain but very creative, artistic and unique.

The lone star State flag was made from school books.  Very cool!

Early morning photo taken in the pine forests we transitioned into shortly after leaving Mexican Hill Ranch.

Along with pine forests we started to see more beautiful lakes along the route.

Our first SAG stop with the C2C group was at Honey's Coffee and Bakery.  Incredible orange biscuits.

Our lunch stop was at The Hop.  Great burgers, shakes and onion rings!!

The day ended at the weirdest place we have stayed at to date - Shepherd's Sanctuary.  It looks like Sanford and Son recreating Disneyland.

The rocking horses stolen from a children playground and running through our lines of tents inspired us to make better pace lines into the strong head winds we have been facing.

Piles of glass bottles at Shepherd's Sanctuary, no we didn't drink all of that.  We look forward with great anticipation to completing our last day in Texas tomorrow.
