Day 23 - Sanderson to Comstock

All of our lives we have been told you haven't seen anything yet.  Well today we saw nothing....for 61 miles until the last 20 miles when we saw the Judge Roy Bean Museum, beautiful bluffs and the Pecos River.

2600 feet of climbing today for 81 miles.  Here is one of the climbs near the Pecos river.

Emerging Road Runner...  Adrian was on the podium with Gary & Henry until he faded after mile 60.

This photo was taken on the bridge looking at the Pecos River.  Beautiful River.

Our lunch stop was in Langtry, a sleepy little town that is home of the Judge Roy Bean Museum. It was charming with displays of the local history.  Interestingly, it turns out Roy Bean was never a judge but rather an eccentric character in West Texas.

The town Roy Bean lived in was named after his English actress heartthrob Lille Langtry who he never met in his life, but Lillie visited the town after his death.  We refer to you the popular movie The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean which will further enlighten you on this curious character.

Another inspirational group of students and parents at the Sanderson High School.  They made a great dinner and a wonderful breakfast.  Great hospitality.
