Thank you Bubba, can we have another day like today?
Best day of the tour so far as we crossed the halfway point to St. Augustine, FL. Gorgeous 72.6 mile ride with 2,500 feet of climbing in the Texas Hill Country. It's all good 😃 rolling hills, 80 degrees, light traffic and a tailwind.

More about this picture later...
This amazing day started out with us riding into heavy fog and mist. By the first rest stop shown here gave way to sunshine in the highlands and continued clouds in the valleys.
Soon after leaving the rest stop we finally came upon our first longhorns in the state of Texas. We were getting concerned because we are almost halfway across Texas and the only cattle we saw with with horns were near Marfa called shorthorns.

We have finally moved off busy commercial roads to wonderful country roads ambling along the Guadalupe River.
...and through a magnificent tunnel of trees that is reminiscent of northern Michigan.
Today marked the celebration of crossing the halfway point from San Diego to St. Augustine, FL. Pictures were taken and the team had agreed upon a celebration stance which Adrian proudly shows.
Unfortunately when Henry arrived for his picture he appears to have been either too tired or totally forgot that he was supposed to hold his bike in his outstretched arm.
So our lunch spot was a very interesting and rustic general store in Hunt, Texas. It was the first general store we have been to with a live bank teller in the store. Gary asked why she was behind bars and she said because she was so pretty.
The evening ended with a celebration dinner featuring margaritas, lobster and tenderloins. A good time was had by all and everyone retired looking forward to a great second half of the trip starting in the morning.
where is the 3/30 blog how can I start my day without going for a virtual bike ride?
